Lego Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape: One of the Best Lego Sets Ever?

It’s been a long while since a Lego Set made my jaw drop, started me drooling, and made me think “Wow, Lego loves me” (I think the last time this was the case was with the Lego Dwarves Mine), but Lego has done it again with The Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape. Let me say that name again for you, The Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape. While all the other sets in the Lego Super Heroes line have standard Lego Set names (that are also really similar to the original Lego Batman sets names) like Batwing Battle Over Gotham City or Catwoman Catcycle City Chase, this here set gets the grand title THE DYNAMIC DUO FUNHOUSE ESCAPE (which it is totally worthy of).

Next up, Lego normally puts all of its prized characters in different, expensive sets (that’s how they get you to buy them all). The other Batman sets in the Super Heroes line follow this code, with a few major characters in the largest set, and each of the other sets with Batman, a villain, and a fluff character (or two or three). I can’t remember a time when Lego didn’t follow this code… until today. This set contains Batman, Robin (only available in the $100+ Batcave), the Joker, Harley Quinn (exclusive to this set), and the Riddler (exclusive to this set). Not to mention the fact that that’s 5 important characters in a $40 set (which is fantastic for a Lego licensed set).

Thirdly, this is a pretty big playset. You’ve got this building here with all it’s trappings. There is a roller coaster, some moving floors, trapdoors, a giant swinging mallet, a giant joker billboard, a crane from which the boy wonder is dangling, and what seems to be a talking booth with an extra Riddler head. We also get the Batcycle, which is quite a nice complement to the set.

And Finally, this is a $40 dollar licensed Lego set with 380 pieces. This puts it at the golden ratio ($.10 a brick) which hardly ever happens with licensed Lego sets. I personally can’t wait to get my hands on this one.
