New Japanese Trailer for Animal Crossing 3DS

June 23, 2012

Porter! Mayoral duties! New stores! Who knows why on earth Nintendo of America refused to mention it at E3 or in their new Nintendo Direct.

Well, Animal Crossing 3DS will becoming to Japan this Fall and Europe in 2013. While this new trailer is awesome, personally I hope they release some official North Americans Animal Crossing info soon.

New Nintendo Direct on Thursday the 21st (UPDATE) NOA at 9:00 P.M. PT

June 21, 2012

UPDATE: Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Europe are also holding Nintendo Directs. NOA’s is tonight at 9:00 PT and will be focused on 3DS, DS, and Wii. Watch it live here.

Original: Good old Nintendo is treating us to more news again on Friday! This is a Japanese Nintendo Direct, but I’d still expect some news that could apply to the world. It’ll be airing at 8:00 P.M. PT on the 21st. You can watch it live (in Japanese) here.

My wish for the event? News about Animal Crossing 3DS! “No Animal Crossing” was actually trending on Twitter after their 3DS E3 Software Showcase. They had to have noticed that right?

E3 2012: New Super Mario Bros. 2

June 6, 2012

Despite the fact that the Nintendo 3DS software showcase today didn’t reveal ANY new first-party titles and completely ignored Animal Crossing (eeeerrrrr), they did show and announce a lot of cool things about New Super Mario Bros. 2.

Nintendo says the focus of New Super Mario Bros. 2 will be collecting coins and ultimately, 1,000,000 coins. It also showcases the return of the raccoon suit (it actually flys!) and introduces the ability to play the entire game co-op with another player over local wireless. Also, for those who are confused, this is an entirely new game and in no way related to New Super Mario Bros. U.

It will be available at retail and as a download in the 3DS eShop on August 19th. Read all about it here.

E3 2012: Nintendo Land

June 5, 2012

Nintendo Land, a Wii U launch title, was announced at today’s E3 presentation. It is a collection of 12 minigames set in a Nintendo theme park. Nintendo compares it to Wii Sports as it showcases interesting things the Wii U can do. Read all about it here.

E3 2012 Wii U Lineup Trailer

June 5, 2012

What an interesting E3. While we saw a lot of amazing looking games (New Super Mario Bros. U, Pikmin 3, Nintendo Land, and Scribblenauts Unlimited come to mind) we seemed to be missing deeper Nintendo published titles (Zelda, Metroid, Smash Bros, Galaxy style Mario, etc.) on their new console.

While I work on posting photos, trailers, and E3 news, enjoy the Wii U lineup trailer above.

Pre-E3 Nintendo Direct Sunday at 3:00 PT! Focus on Wii U Concept!

June 2, 2012

And so it begins. Iwata, Reggie, and Miyamoto have arrived in LA for E3. But that’s not the big news here. The big news here is that Nintendo is holding another one of their direct-to-fan presentations tomorrow to talk Wii U before the big bang of their Tuesday conference and the ska-doosh of their Wednesday software showcase. They say it’s to talk the concept behind the Wii U and such. There is bound to be plenty of fun so be sure to tune in here at 3 pm PT.

Expect this to be the beginning of a spectacular array of E3 posts here as well as me trying my hand at live tweeting throughout E3 from my couch.

Is your body ready?

Nintendo Moving into the Future! Most First Party 3DS and Wii U Retail Games will be Available in Digital form Starting with New Super Mario Bros. 2!

April 29, 2012

I can’t believe it! My little Nintendo is growing up! At a recent investors meeting, Nintendo announced that they will be drastically expanding their digital business with the ability to download retail games onto the 3DS and the Wii U (when it launches) beginning with New Super Mario Bros. 2!

There is a large number of amazing details I could tell you about, but I’m blogging from an iPad on a trip and frankly it’d be a pain in the butt. I’ll do a big, informative, gushy post when I get back though.

April 21, 2012

At this Nintendo Direct Nintendo of Japan announced that Animal Crossing 3DS will be coming to Japan in the Fall. Besides that we’ve got a Japanese title (Tobidase Doubutsu no Mori, which translates to Leap Out Animal Crossing) and a handfull of new images, the first of which seems to depict the mayor’s office. The other images are below.

Just like the title of this post says, Amazon France has listed September 28th as a tentative release date for Animal Crossing 3DS. It’s not official by any means, but it’s a very plausible launch date.
