Six Seasons and a Movie Community Art Show

August 7, 2012

I had the great pleasure of attending the Six Seasons and a Movie art show in June, when it was in its full glory. For whatever reason, I never got around to posting images of the event. Well I’ve just remedied that. Chang out some of my favorite shots here or view my full gallery of pics on Flickr.

Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel Announced at SDCC

July 20, 2012

Whoa. Phineas and Ferb… with Spider Man, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Venom, Whiplash, Red Skull, and M.O.D.O.K.? Say what now? Just watch the video and gasp in awe with me as I wait for Summer 2013 to see what the heck will happen when they mix the talent of Marvel with the witty humor of Phineas and Ferb.

HOLY POP POP!

This shirt beckons, like a finger curling and uncurling as if to say “Hey, come here”. The cool cool cool-ness is making my whole brain cry and I don’t no what to do. Someone had better call all the ambulances because this shirt is LIFE CHANG-ING.

Get it on the Yetee before it goes away at 9:00 PT on the 21st!

Greetings from Comic-Con 2012!

July 15, 2012

Jam packed days at Comic Con and Legoland. In GEEK heaven! I probably have a couple dozen posts I want to do, but I’m in the midst of too much awesomeness to stop and write about it!

Stay tuned though! I will start posting tons right after Con (assuming I’m not completely passed out on the couch from over geeking out). I’ll be doing posts on new Lego sets and minifigs, how inept Sony is with handling Human Beings, previews for new Nintendo games/products, and a WORLD EXCLUSIVE about something I got straight from the mouth of Mario.

Also, this artwork was shown at the Six Seasons and a Movie Community art show in LA earlier this week. I had the wonderful pleasure of attending it and am currently trying to figure out the best way to post about 150 photos from the event.

Dan Harmon is No Longer Community’s Showrunner: An Angry Rant

May 20, 2012

Dan Harmon: the guru behind Community, the showrunner, the creator, the one who INVENTED Troy and Abed, the one who has made it all happen, has been kicked out of his own show thanks to some big heartless, mindless, corporate idiots at Sony and NBC.

Dan Harmon was removed from his position without the decency of even a phone call. In fact, Dan Harmon wasn’t contacted by anyone. But, hey, don’t believe me…Dan Harmon says it best, “The important one is this quote from Bob Greenblatt in which he says he’s sure I’m going to be involved somehow, something like that.  That’s a misquote.  I think he meant to say he’s sure cookies are yummy, because he’s never called me once in the entire duration of his employment at NBC.  He didn’t call me to say he was starting to work there, he didn’t call me to say I was no longer working there…” Nice, real classy Sony/NBC.

Should we expect the show to be as good without him? Most certainly not. He was the one who made who made it happen. As he said in his tumblr…”I was what you might call a….hands on producer…I’m not saying you can’t make a good version of Community without me, but I am definitely saying that you can’t make my version of it unless I have the option of saying “it has to be like this or I quit” roughly 8 times a day.” Will the same kind of stuff happen under the rule of other people? I highly, highly doubt it.

And to Sony and NBC, the guy with the focus, passion, vision, and dream SHOULD NEVER BE THE ONE THAT GETS FIRED. So what if he’s not that easy to work with. I bet you can say that about any artistic genius throughout time. Dumb asses.

Community Season 3 Finale – My Response

May 19, 2012

Digital Estate Planning

Thursday’s Community season finale opened with one of their most creative episodes ever. In Digital Estate Planning, the study group helps Pierce win his father’s inheritance by completing an epic 8-bit video game. Between the constant flow of gaming shout-outs, the art style for the entire episode, and Abed finding his virtual soulmate, it was an episode that, while seeming out of place in the current story arc, us Human Beings will never forget.

The First Chang Dynasty

In The First Chang Dynasty, we jump back into the current story arc. The Dean has been imprisoned by Chang. With the help of his deanelchanger and army of children, Chang is running Greendale with an iron fist and a prescription throne. To save the Dean, the study group plans an elaborate heist which ends in the end of the reign of Chang and Troy selling his soul to the Air Conditioning Repair school.

Introduction to Finality

In this beautiful season finale, you can tell that Dan Harmon was preparing for cancelation (which it sort of was for him. More on that soon). Shirley is fighting with Pierce over the rights to her sandwich shop, Troy is living and working at the air conditioning repair school, and Abed is going insane. Evil Abed appears to Abed and convinces him to let him takeover for awhile. Needless to say, things got bad, but then they got better. By the ending of the episode, the study group and Greendale were prepared for the end of the series. The ending montage wrapped everything up. Lose ends were tied, happiness was spread, Star Burns returned from the dead, and I was close to tears. The episode ended with one final word that no doubt brought a smile to the face of every devout Human Being.
