Nintendo E3 2011: Wii News

June 8, 2011

The Wii actually got some expansive support at E3 this year with 7 note worthy games, 3 of which were reveals.

Kirby Wii was not really revealed at E3, but it was shown and confirmed with this trailer. It brings back more traditional Kirby gameplay with Kirby’s copy ability and 2D platforming. It also going 4 player in a New Super Mario Bros. Wii Style. It will be released this Fall.

The most surprising Wii game reveal, Fortune Street, is a Monopoly-like Japan game series by Square Enix where you play as Mario and Dragon Quest characters. The board game like gameplay involves managing a stock market while buying up stores and charging people rent. It will be released this holiday season.

Mario Party 9 looks to bring more Mario partying to the Wii. It looks like a Mario Party game, what else is there to say? It currently has a TBA release date.

Rhythm Heaven is also on the way. It looks like it could be entertaining. Also with a TBA release.

Last, but certainly not least, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword got a new trailer and a holiday release.

We also heard about Wii Play Motion and Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, but these were already shown heavily before E3.

Of course, this is not including Wii-U info, I’ll save that for another post.
