Ok Lego, so I have a question: How is this set appropriate for children? You have now turned down three projects on Lego Cuusoo deeming the content “inappropriate for their target audience”. To illustrate this, they’ve made a few blog posts now explaining what criteria they consider in the Lego review. They’ve actually stated that they won’t except “Death, killing, blood, terrorism, or torture”. Now I understand how Shaun of the Dead, Firefly, and Ghost in the Shell aren’t right for Lego. What I don’t understand is how the heck this is?
This set includes everything you need to recreate one of the most gruesome, terrifying scenes from Revenge of the Sith (below the child slaughter, but above Anakin being mutilated). You have a little catapult to throw Palpatine at the four Jedi he kills and a window (and force lightning) to push out of and kill Mace Windu with.
So Lego, how can you refuse sets based off of other violent content and deem this bit of man slaughter appropriate for a Lego set?

They are finally here (and by finally I mean a half a month early. My wallet is not prepared)! The first 7 sets in the Lego Lord of the Rings line are now available on Lego.com (and at Target and, if you are silly enough to pay mark up prices, at Toy’s R Us)! I put them in my cart for fun and they total at a wonderfully whopping $400. I have no idea how I will come by that kinda cash, let alone survive the following geek out of playing with a little Lego version of Legolas… Anyways, here are links to the sets on Lego’s site.
- 9469 Gandalf Arrives: 83 pieces and $13. Includes Gandalf (exclusive to the set), Frodo Baggins (in exclusive clothes), and one of the new, special, posable horsies.
- 9470 Shelob Attacks: 227 pieces and $20. Includes Frodo, Samwise Gamgee (exclusive to the set), the One Ring, and Gollum (exclusive to the set).
- 9471 Uruk-hai Army: 257 pieces and $30. Includes Eomer (exclusive to the set), Rohirrim archer (exclusive to the set), four Uruk-hai, and a new horse.
- 9476 The Orc Forge: 363 and $40. This set is a Target/Lego exclusive and includes Lurtz (exclusive to this set), two Mordor orcs, and a Uruk-hai.
- 9472 Attack on Weathertop: 430 pieces and $60. Includes Aragorn, Frodo, Meriadoc Brandybuck (exclusive to this set), two Ringwraiths (exclusive to this set), the One Ring, and one of the new horses in black.
- 9473 The Mines of Moria: 776 pieces and $80. Includes Legolas (exclusive to this set), Gimli, Boromir (exclusive to this set), Peregrin Took (exclusive to this set), two Mordor orcs, and a cave troll (exclusive to this set).
- 9474 The Battle of Helm’s Deep: 1,368 pieces and $130. Includes Aragorn, Gimli, Haldir (exclusive to this set), King Théoden (exclusive to this set), and four Uruk-hai.
Also, if you plan on buying any of these before the end of the month, Lego will include the above Frodo poster. AND, if your total is over $50, you will also enjoy the exclusive wonder of this Hulk minifigure!
What are you waiting for? A birthday or holiday or something? Go breakout your piggy banks and shop till you drop!

Modular Western Town
Now that the Modular Western Town has passed 9000, it won’t be long now until it reaches the Lego review. Go view the brilliance and give it the extra little push.
Also by the creator is the awesome UCS Sandcrawler which is quickly climbing in supporters.
Link.
My Little Pony – Friendship is Magic
Go on. You want some Lego My Little Ponies in your collection don’t you? Anyways, these would make my sister really happy.
Link.
Space Marines!
Space Marines is actually an entirely new theme being suggested. Across between Lego’s space line and Halo, these sets and characters look pretty brilliant. And the concept story is fantastic too.
Link.
Exo Suit
I believe all minifigs should be entitled life, liberty, the pursuit if happiness, and this exo suit. A minifig has to defend itself!
Link.
Piano (Music Architecture Series)
This idea is to create a new series of architecture sets based of composers and pianos. The detail that has gone into everything is exquisite.
Link.
Ghostbusters
One of the best ideas I’ve seen on Lego Cuusoo. The Ghostbusters would translate incredibly well to Lego. The CG shots of possible sets give me goosebumps.
Link.
Labyrinth Marble Maze
Who doesn’t love a Labyrinth maze? And a fully-functioning one made entirely of Lego? Hell yes!
Link.
The Muppets!
While mostly just concept sketches, the possibility of Lego Muppets was too great not to include in this list.
Link.
Micro Scale Star Wars Scenes
I have featured the work of 2 Much Caffeine on my blog multiple times for it’s pure excellence. Now he has put out a couple of awesome ideas on Cuusoo including these micro scale Star Wars scenes (the first which I blogged here). Go through the Cuusoo project and look at all the amazing models.
Link.
Super Mario
Last, but most certainly not least, I’ve been searching for a quality Super Mario Project on Lego Cuusoo since day one, and last night, I finally found one. This was actually just posted yesterday and already has well over 200 supporters. Look through all the images and read the creator’s awesome blog. I might die from over exposure to joy if it became a reality. The suggested set(s) are just far too mind blowing.
Also, I know we have just pushed a different Legend of Zelda Project to 10,000 supporters, but take a look at this one.

Lego Cuusoo blows my mind. It’s a totally incredible concept. Fans put their models on the website and if their idea gets 10,000 supporters, Lego reviews the concept and makes it a set (if the idea is doable). It’s basically Kickstarter without having to put any money down. So far, Lego Minecraft Micro World and two Japan models have stemmed from Cuusoo with Lego Shaun of the Dead in review.
Looking through the site you will find tons and tons of amazing models and concepts. Some of the most supported projects include Lego Back to the Future and Lego Modular Western Town. But of all the projects (with a substantial number of supporters) Lego Legend of Zelda I found by far the coolest. Today, the Lego Legend of Zelda project has acquired 5000 supporters (half of what they need for Lego to pitch this product to Nintendo). With 5000 supporters, Lego designers will now start building concepts for possible Zelda sets.
As you can guess, I find this all extremely exciting and I wish this project the best of luck as it travels to the 10,000 supporter goal! And, if you are reading this and haven’t yet, go create a Cuusoo account and support some projects!
